THE BREATH OF MY EARTH

The"Breath of my earth" (Η Ανάσα της Γης μου) is a collection, a remembrance of songs that belong to the municipal tradition of Central Greece and the Peloponnese. From the large volume of songs I chose what as a person and as a musician thought they had a remarkable aesthetic value and above all songs that they always move me.

This work arose not from a desire to record these songs but from something deeper in my soul. My need has three aspects:

First of all, after a certain moment in life, a person wants to leave something behind, in the sense of offering (and not profit). to anyone who can accept it.

Secondly, my deepest belief that in order for something new to emerge in life and art, we must lovingly bow down to what our ancestors did with all of them. the nice and bad looks.

Thirdly, these songs were the reason for me to deal with our traditional music and with these songs I learned to play my first notes on the clarinet. So my root is in them. These songs are part of my ancestors heritage.
